SHOE SHINE

Written by chris molitor

I’m just a shoe shine in the windy city

Please, oh please, don’t give me pity

When all, when all, I need is love.

Life has been cruel to me. I stook up fast and grew up mean.

Momma did the best she could but she can’t do what Poppa should

My Father called me a mistake but all I call him is hate.

I’m just a shoe shine in the windy city

Please, oh please, don’t give me pity

When all, when all, I need is love.

When all, when all, I need is love.

Death has walked by my side. It’s been so long since the light.

The shoe I shine, they hold my heart. The Lord sees it’s the best I’ve got.

And each pair of shoes, they need some love.

Yes each, pair of shoes..they need some love.

I’m just a shoe shine in the windy city

Please, oh please, don’t give me pity

When all, when all, I need is love.

When all, when all, I need is love.

There’s light in my eyes that Hell hasn’t known.

I will not despise this old grindstone.

I’ll push til I die. This soul labors on.

Hell can’t touch me, and Death wont hold me long.
